The picture on the banner above is the front of a little quilting shop in a tourist town I visited on our New Year's Week trip.  I bought some kiwi-ana from here. 

In another shop, the owner (below) covered her measuring tables with o
ld rotary cutting pads.  She gets her fabrics from wholesalers in the US.   NZ fabrics are sold by the meter, so fat quarters are slightly bigger than ours.  Some dealers sell "fat eighths", and this store had lots of "bundled" quarters and eights.
